23/02/2021 - Breaking News - Issues with INZ

I just want to vent my anger and frustation after soooo many calls from clients, and how INZ is dealing with immigrants at this moment.

What is wrong with INZ and their so-called "systems"?

On 23 December 2020 the "system" sends an email to all work visa holders that their visas would be extended by 6 months! Read here.

On 26 January 2021 INZ send out a message and a news paper article that it was a "system error" and it was not applicable to all work visas. INZ states in the article that it would not happen again! Read here.

The last coupe of weeks I have been fielding many phonecalls from clients whose employers are asking for evidence that their visas have been extended. When enquiring with INZ it is stated that it will be done in the first week of March (hopefully). In other words, they can't do anything....

In the mean time, hardworking people are penalised, they are forced to stop working and do not get paid.

Automatic emails by the "system" that are not correct create stress, frustation and anger, and extra work for all involved

We could again ask, what is wrong with INZ "systems"?

The answer for me is clear. In my view it is not that "systems" are wrong, it are the drivers of the "system" that are wrong!

NEWS STATEMENT FROM IMMIGRATION NEW ZEALAND

As we embark on a New Year, Immigration New Zealand (INZ) has taken the opportunity to reflect on our border exception processing times.

Last year, INZ committed to processing border exception requests within two working days (except for other critical worker requests which are processed within two weeks). The two working day timeframe has created significant pressure on staff responsible for assessing these requests.

21/01/2021 - The old boys' network is holding NZ back

OPINION

Over the last 40 years, I have been a director, an active investor, and an advocate for both investor rights and responsibilities.

I have always felt a degree of discomfort with the status quo when it comes to corporate governance, perhaps this is not surprising having been motivated to leave the UK by its class system and old boys' networks nearly 60 years ago.
